Newyork Times has announced an API for congress, which lets developers access information about Congressional representatives and their votes.

The initial release exposes four types of data:

SWT or The Standard Widget Toolkit is really a powerful API similar to AWT/SWING, but it uses a rich set of platform native interfaces. It is written in Java with JNI (Java Native Interface) classes calling native windowing APIs. Unlike Java Swing applications, SWT applications look like any native windowing applications and have excellent performance.
